An unusual car for us to stock, in that GK05AYX has covered a fair few miles in its 16 years, but when we were offered the car as a part exchange we couldn’t say no once we’d driven it and looked at the recent service history.

With 134,200 miles under its 19″ ‘Lobster Claw’ alloy wheels, one would normally expect a Boxster like this to feel a bit baggy and tired, but not this one! The previous owner had the car for four years, and did not shy away from spending money on key maintenance items. The service history is solid, with 8 stamps recorded at a mix of OPCs and Porsche specialists. Latterly, the car was cared for by Christian Sanger in Coate, Wiltshire, and has had the following works completed in recent years:

An early Stuttgart-built 986 Boxster 2.5 with very low genuine mileage of 43,296, K239KRC was first registered on January 1st 1998, so would have been built during 1997, making it one of the first UK cars (there was a waiting list of up to 12 months from order to delivery due to massive demand at launch).

Looking great in period Zenith Blue metallic paint with graphite grey leather interior, K239KRC has just a few options fitted – automatic air conditioning, 17″ Twist-spoke wheels, leather seats, wind deflector, centre console with CD compartment, an on-board computer and the super-rare soft zipped storage pocket on the engine cover (only fitted to the very early 2.5 cars, superseded with a hard plastic storage box from 1999).

Here we have another great looking “facelift” Boxster 2.7 in ever popular Seal Grey, this time with complementary Graphite grey leather interior and a black hood. This lovely Boxster has now covered 77,480 miles (average about 4,600 a year). It was first registered as SN03BHL by Porsche Centre Edinburgh in June 2003, and was serviced at the OPC three times before being sold by its first owner to a chap from Belfast in 2008. The second owner changed the registration to TFZ9541 as is normal in Northern Ireland, and kept the car for 10 years before it came back to the UK and was sold to just its third owner by well known Porsche specialists JR Motor Company of Coventry in 2018.

A lovely original Boxster 2.7 with just 3 owners from new, the last of whom doted on his car for over 10 years. With only 63,187 miles recorded in 19 years, X727HHY looks fabulous in deep Lapis Blue metallic paint, complemented with a black alcantara interior and hood. Fitted with a few nice options from new – PSM Porsche Stability Management, Litronic xenon headlights with washers, climate control, Becker Porsche CR-22 cassette radio and CDC-3 CD autochanger (yes, time to dig out those C90 TDK cassette tapes!), and some polished stainless steel door entry guards and exhaust finisher.

Another car that we are lucky enough to have been offered by an enthusiast owner, W395SRX is a great example of an early 986 Boxster in fantastic original condition, but which has benefitted from some significant refurbishment to the suspension, AC system and exhaust fixings in the last couple of years.

Presented in the classic Porsche combination of Arctic Silver with black leather interior and hood, W395SRX has covered just 72,936 miles over 21 years, in the hands of just three long term owners. To save you the mental gymnastics, thats just under 3,500 miles a year, and in that time, the car has been serviced 18 times, including 8 Porsche OPC services and the last 8 services from 2013 to 2020 by Horsham based specialists Addspeed.

We are delighted to be able to offer another low mileage 986 Boxster S, in one of our favourite colour combinations of deep Lapis Blue metallic paint with black leather interior and hood. Y495VHR was first registered in June 2001 and has had just 3 owners from new, the most recent a retired engineer who bought the car from Paragon Porsche in November 2013. At this point Y495VHR had covered just 26,371 miles and was in concours condition, having been used for approximately 2,000 miles a year since new. Now showing just 47,900 miles, the car remains in excellent condition throughout and drives superbly.

Ordered from Porsche Centre Swindon and delivered on 30th June 2001, Y495VHR has a short list of well chosen options for a driver-focussed Boxster: sports seats in black leather, extended leather to dashboard and door panels, 18″ 993 Turbo look wheels, automatic air conditioning and a top tinted windscreen. MX56NZF came to us in part exchange for our Ruby Red Gen 2 Boxster 2.9, from a long term owner of 8 years. Looking fantastic is classic Porsche Guards Red with black leather, MX56NZF is a 987.1 Boxster 3.4 S with just over 97,000 miles recorded, and 10 maintenance stamps in the service record. In addition, in November 2019 at 91,749 miles the owner commissioned a full engine rebuild by renowned specialists Hartech, to address some bore scoring in 3 cylinders. The bill for this work, that included a new clutch and a few months later, a new starter motor, was over £9,700.

The previous owner also maintained a spreadsheet to record all expenditure on his Boxster, which shows new front and rear brake discs and pads, AC condensers and a cooling fan in 2016 at 79,872 miles, and a new set of coil packs in 2018 at 87,948 miles. This [...]

Another great 986 Boxster that we have sold before, we are pleased to welcome back WX04GMG.

A superb looking late facelift 986 Boxster S finished in classic Arctic Silver metallic paint with black leather interior and hood, WX04GMG has covered just 64,025 miles from new. The service history is comprehensive, showing 9 stamps in the maintenance record, 4 from Porsche Centres, including a Major service at Porsche Centre Bournemouth in March 2016 at 43,017 miles that included a brake fluid change, new spark plugs, new front and rear brake discs and pads, new clutch, rear main seal and IMS bearing seal. The bill came to just under £3,800.

Fitted with upgraded 18″ 996.2 Carrera 5-spoke alloy wheels (which have been professionally refurbished) and nearly new N-rated Pirelli P Zero tyres, the car also features a Dansk stainless steel sports exhaust, which gives a much deeper (and slightly louder!) tone to the [...]
