The first generation 987 Cayman is a staggeringly good all round sports car, with one of the finest handling chassis combined with great performance, superb build quality and a surprising level of day-to-day practicality. The only issue they face is that the 3.4 engined S models can suffer from bore scoring, the result of which is that values of 987.1 Caymans are far lower than their 987.2 “Gen 2″ counterparts, which can mean excellent value IF the 987.1 Cayman S you’re looking at has no bore scoring. So when we buy 987.1 era Caymans and Boxsters with the 3.4 S engine, we carry out a bore scope inspection ourselves, and share the results (with pictures) with our customers. GK06CVE had a bore scope inspection in Feb 2024 at 71k miles when we first sold it, and was completely clear. The chap we originally sold it to in 2024 undertook further modifications [...]

Here we have a stunning early Boxster 2.7 in Guards Red, which has covered an amazingly low 16,118 miles from new in the hands of just 3 owners, 2 of whom were father and son. W772VHB was first registered in the UK on 16th June 2000, having been originally collected from Wittebrug Porsche in Voorburg, Netherlands on 30th May 2000. Wittebrug Porsche was the world’s first Porsche dealer, having started selling Porsche cars in 1950! Ordering a UK-spec Porsche from a European dealer was quite commonplace at the turn of the century, as UK dealers struggled to get enough cars to satisfy demand.

This is a spectacular 986 Boxster 3.2 S that we are pleased to welcome back, having first acquired it in 2020 and subsequently sold it to it’s last two owners (who have both sold it back to us when they have bought another Porsche from us). V715DMW is one of the earliest 3.2 S models, having been built in late 1999 and first registered on 6th January 2000 by Dick Lovett in Swindon. 3 owners from new, the first owned it for 19 years and had the car serviced every year without fail, first at Porsche Centre Hatfield (5 stamps) then at respected independent JZM Porsche (13 stamps). When he eventually sold the car in 2020, it was snapped up by a staff member at Porsche Centre Hatfield, who carried on the metronomic servicing using his employer’s workshop (3 stamps). It was sold for only the third time in 2022 to the chap we bought it from, he added a couple more service stamps from Nine Excellence and Mortimers. The history file runs to two A4 folders in a big box file, including the original purchase invoice and paperwork, and every service invoice and MOT certificate.

Just 5 owners from new (last two father and son), we originally bought it in 2022 from the 3rd owner, a North Devon doctor who had owned it for 21 years!
