Here we have a great low mileage example of the 987.1 Boxster 2.7, a car that we sold first last year to a lovely chap in Paignton, who was so bitten by the Porsche bug that 6 months later, he had us source a 987.2 Cayman S for him! Which was great, as that meant we got back his Boxster as part of the deal.

GN55AXD is presented in classic Arctic Silver with Stone Grey leather interior and a black hood, and has covered just 46,279 miles over the past 19 years, on average just 2,500 miles per year. It actually did 33k miles in the first 5 years, so has settled down to just over 1,000 miles per year since then. Which accounts for the excellent condition of the car, along with the impeccable service history, following the Porsche service schedule with metronomic frequency, as follows:

Our main focus at Flat Six Classics is 986/987 era Boxsters and Caymans, but occasionally we get offered a 911 that we just can’t refuse. RX53WPF is just such a car, a facelift (996.2) Carrera 2 Tiptronic that remains in superb condition throughout, having had a significant amount of time and money expended over recent years to maintain and improve it.

First registered on 1st September 2003, RX53WPJ was ordered in Arctic Silver with black extended leather interior, and the following options: 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, rear window wiper, automatic air conditioning, Becker Porsche CDR-23 CD radio and a 6 CD autochanger. Originally delivered on 18″ SportClassic wheels, the car was switched to 18″ 996.2 Carrera wheels in 2013.

The service history is very good, with 16 services recorded in the maintenance record. From 2012 at 45k miles to 2017 at 66k miles, the car was owned by a Mr Vaughan, [...]

Here we have a very nice “facelift” 986 Boxster 2.7 in classic Arctic Silver with a black leather interior. This car has had just 4 owners from new, with the first owner keeping their car for over 13 years. Now showing just 70,914 miles, the car benefits from a comprehensive documented history showing 16 service stamps in the maintenance record, the first 10 at the supplying Porsche dealer, Porsche Centre Reading.

The “facelift” cars from the last two years of 986 production benefit from a number of improvements over the “early” cars – notably a newly designed hood with heated glass rear window, increased power and torque from the 2.7-litre flat six engine, and some additional interior features such as cupholders and a glove box.

RK03OJG was originally ordered with just a few options – leather seats, automatic air conditioning, PSM Porsche Stability Management and 17″ Boxster S wheels. The car [...]

We are fortunate to see some lovely examples of the early 986 Boxsters that we specialise in selling, but every now and again something really special turns up. In this case, we were called a couple of weeks ago by a local chap in North Devon who asked whether we might be interested in buying his Boxster….and I mean HIS Boxster, as he had ordered it new over 24 years ago!

W80XER is an exceptional car in all respects – unbroken and detailed history from Day 1, just 31,149 miles from new, full service history and metronomic MOT passes every March since 2003. In 22 tests it has had just two advisories – uneven wear on a front tyre in 2017, and a small weep from the oil filter housing in 2018. Condition wise, the car is absolutely exceptional for an original 24 year old car – just look through the [...]

An excellent example of the “facelift” 986 Boxster 3.2 S from late 2002, RA52YOF has covered 73,125 miles over the last 21 years, and is presented in classic Porsche Guards Red with black extended leather interior and black hood. The facelift cars from the last two years of 986 Boxster production featured a number of revisions and improvements over the earlier models, including increased power to 260bhp, a new hood design with heated glass rear window, revised bumpers and air intakes, and some improvements to the interior with the addition of a glove box and cupholders no less!

RA52YOF was first registered on 22nd November 2002 by AFN Reading (now Porsche Centre Reading), and was ordered with a number of factory options including heated seats, PSM Porsche Stability Management, extended leather to dashboard and door panels, PCM2 Porsche Communication Management with Telephone and Navigation modules, and a 6-disc CD changer (…remember [...]

Here we have another fantastic, very low mileage 986 Boxster 2.7 in a classic colour combination – Guards Red with black leather. T24 MRF was first registered on 1st January 2002, delivering a very Happy New Year to its first lady owner, who kept her Boxster for over 13 years to May 2015, by which time the mileage had reached just 37,000 miles, an average of less than 3,000 miles per year. The second owner kept T24 MRF for nearly 6 years, and it has had just two further keepers. The last owner purchased the car from the well known dealer KGF Classics in January 2023 at 40,100 miles, but a recent house move to a more rural location on Exmoor has convinced him that it no longer suits his needs, or the state of the some of the roads in the National Park!

Now showing just 42,456 miles, the car [...]

An extremely rare 911 Carrera 3.0 Targa, 911 TYD is presented fresh from a 5 year “nut and bolt” restoration carried out by a respected and highly experienced Porsche specialist, Martin Reed of North Devon Porsche. Incorporating a few very subtle modifications designed to remove weight and complexity, and deliver cleaner lines to the iconic design, chassis number 9117610434 is in truly spectacular, concours condition throughout.

The 3.0 Carrera was produced for just two model years (MY76 and MY77) between August 1975 and July 1977) and sat in the middle of the 911 range, between the standard 911 and the 930 Turbo. During that period only 3,687 cars were produced worldwide, a very small number compared to nearly 58,000 911SCs and 76,500 3.2 Carreras manufactured in later years. Of the total number of Carrera 3.0 cars produced, 2,564 were coupes and 1,123 were Targas, with only a small proportion manufactured in [...]

Here we have a superb low mileage example of the “facelift” 986 Boxster S, having covered just 42,133 miles in the hands of only two owners from new.

By 2003 the 986 Boxster had been in production for 6 years, and at this point Porsche introduced a number of improvements to the model for the last 2 years of production. These “facelift” cars feature slightly more power (the 3.2 S now up to 260bhp), a revised hood with a heated glass rear window, cosmetic changes to the design of the bumpers and air intake trim, clear lenses to the indicators, and some additional features in the cabin, with the inclusion of a glovebox and cupholders.

Presented in Basalt Black (LC9Z) metallic paint with graphite grey leather interior, RX53WNJ was first registered on 11th October 2003 at Porsche Centre Reading. The first owner, a local doctor, ordered his Boxster S with the [...]

As the 987 model Boxster heads towards its 20th anniversary, genuine 1 owner cars are becoming few and far between. Here we have a 987.1 Boxster 3.2 S that was ordered by its doctor owner from Porsche Centre Exeter in May 2006, and stayed with him until we bought it earlier this month. Now having covered just 56,707 miles (the vast majority of which were completed by 2015), WA06KZZ is in superb mechanical condition, having been the subject of significant recent expenditure to address all the normal 987 ageing issues – the coolant system, water pump and AC condensers being the usual suspects!

Th car was ordered with very few factory options – just extended leather, 18″ “crab-claw” wheels and a top tinted windscreen. This results in a lightweight Boxster S that feels like a real roadster with the roof down, as it has no wind deflector or mesh inserts in [...]
