Porsche Boxster & Cayman for sale

We are lucky here at Flat Six Classics to be offered a decent number of very good Boxster and Cayman models, from enthusiastic owners keen to avoid the hassles and pitfalls of selling their car privately. And then occasionally we get a call offering us a car like Y159JDV, from the original owner who ordered the car from Porsche Centre Exeter in early 2001.

One owner cars approaching 20 years old are always special, and when they have been looked after with a fastidious level of care and attention over an extended period, the results are plain to see. With just 31,800 miles from new (that’s about 1,700 miles a year), and only ever driven by one owner (who wanted to check that my trousers were clean before I got in the car!), this Boxster is in near immaculate condition inside and out.

The colour is Orient Red metallic, a rare Porsche colour and even more so on a Boxster. The interior is graphite grey leather, extended to the door panels and dashboard, and with embossed Porsche crests on the headrests. Other options were limited to aluminium inlays to the gear knob and handbrake lever, climate control and 17″ Boxster 986.1 wheels.

The car carried the owner’s personalised number plate from new, which he himself inherited from his father, and which he has retained, leading to the assignment of the age-related Devon registration mark Y159JDV. On the road, the car drives superbly as you might expect of a 30,000 mile car, with tight responses and lovely supple suspension. The service history (backed up with all invoices) shows 6 services in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2012, 2016 and 2018, 4 at Porsche Centre Exeter, and 2 at Devon-based Porsche specialists. We will prepare the car with a Minor service, brake fluid change and recharging of the AC system.
