Guards Red with black leather is a classic Porsche colour combination, yet one that is rare in modern classic Porsche models, hence why we just can’t get enough of them. This 987.1 Boxster 2.7 has covered 73,777 miles over the past 17 years at an average of just 4,300 miles a year, and the cosmetic condition of the car reflects this. The paintwork in particular is excellent throughout, with hardly a mark visible anywhere on the car.

A lightly optioned car, FJ05BZA is fitted with automatic air conditioning, PSM Porsche Stability Management, a 3-spoke sports steering wheel, Becker Porsche CDR-24 CD radio, and 18″ Boxster S 987.1 wheels fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres (fitted in August 2021).

The maintenance history is excellent, with 8 service stamps showing in the service record, the first five from Official Porsche Centres in Nottingham and Leicester, then one each at specialists RPM Technik in May 2018 (Major service + spark plugs + drive belt + brake fluid + coil packs), ADH Porsche specialist in June 2020 (Minor service), and recently at Chris Denning Porsche specialist in July 2022 (Major service + spark plugs + belt check + brake fluid), since when the car has covered just a couple of hundred miles.

We first sold FJ05BZA in August 2021, and our preparation for sale included new rear coil springs, four wheel alignment, refurbishment of the exhaust fittings, and replacement of the front coolant hoses and crossover pipes.

On the road, this Boxster is lively and supple, with a fantastic ride and handling balance, perfectly complementing the performance on offer from the 240bhp flat-six engine. Direct steering, a light clutch, “snickety” gearchange and powerful brakes complete the picture, cementing the Porsche Boxster’s reputation as the benchmark roadster of the past 20 years.
