This Land Cruiser is in truly stunning original condition inside and out, having had just 4 owners from new, and just 108,039 miles on the odometer.

Supplied by the Toyota main dealer L & S Copcutt & Sons (now part of the Burrows Toyota group) and first registered on 13.11.02, the first owner kept the car for just 6 months before selling on 8.5.03 – perhaps a dealer demonstrator registered by Copcutt & Sons?
The second owner kept the car for 3 years, and the third owner for the next 16 years, before I bought the car in December 2023.

The service history is very good, with the maintenance record book showing a total of 14 stamps, 11 from Toyota main dealers, as follows:

At the service carried out by Roundswell Toyota in January 2023, a Vehicle Health Check was carried out, which highlighted a few minor works – adjustment of OSR parking brake, front brake pad pin replaced, rear drop link bushes replaced, new auxiliary drive belt. All carried out by Roundswell Toyota, who noted the remarkable condition of the vehicle. The important LC100 Airbag Control Unit recall was also completed at the same time.

There was a small crack in the windscreen, so this has been replaced, and the front brake caliper pistons were slightly corroded causing some grabbing under braking, so new calipers have been fitted (August 2023) along with new front brake pads.

This Land Cruiser is in remarkable condition underneath, the chassis and underbody showing no corrosion at all. To maintain this, the chassis has just been protected with a light coating of Lanoguard (January 2024). The super clean MOT history supports the condition of the car, with the only advisories appearing for tyre wear and a “light misting of oil” on a shock absorber in 2005!

The Galactic Grey Mica (code 1E9) paintwork is all original, and in excellent condition all round the car, with just a couple of very minor blemishes – a scuff to the offside corner of the front bumper, a mark in the lacquer on the leading edge of the bonnet, and a small rust bubble just starting under the trailing edge of the upper tailgate, by the release handle and number plate light. Other than that, all the panels are gun-barrel straight with perfect trim and no dings or scratches.

The interior on this car has been preserved remarkably well, even the outer bolster of the driver’s seat (…normally the Achilles’ heel of these cars if we’re being honest!). The light grey leather is supple with just a little creasing to the front seats, the second and third row of seats almost spotless. The carpets are clean, with just a few tiny marks in the boot area, and the full set of original floor mats are present. Being a Toyota, everything works as it should, with a sense of solidity and purpose that no other 4x4s can match.

This Land Cruiser starts first turn of the key every time, the legendary 1HD-FTE engine providing lots of torque pretty much from tickover. The gearbox provides smooth changes, the suspension is supple and quiet, and the AHC height control works as it should. The brakes are excellent having had new front calipers 6 months ago. The car delivers a smooth and serene driving experience, with the elevated driving position, comfort and amazing all round visibility giving a real sense of calm behind the wheel. What a machine!
