The second of two very similar 987.1 Boxster S models that have come into stock at the same time, RY05KNL is a nice low mileage example with good service history. The car has covered just 55,137 miles in 17 years in the hands of 5 owners in total, an average of around 3,200 miles per year. In classic Arctic Silver with Sea Blue leather interior and a navy blue hood, RY05KNL was first registered in June 2005 by Porsche Centre Reading, and was specified with a few nice options, including 18″ alloy wheels, heated leather seats and a BOSE sound system.
The service history shows 9 service stamps, all at the correct 2 yearly intervals. With relatively low mileage over the last few years, the last two services in 2020 and 2022 were Minors, so we will carry out a Major service, fit new spark plugs and change the brake fluid before sale In addition, our preparation works will include new AC condensers and recharging the system, replacement of the right hand coolant radiator, coolant hoses and crossover pipes, new front brake discs and exhaust fittings.
These 3.2 litre flat six 987.1 Boxsters are a real sweet spot – more powerful than a 986 Boxster S at 280bhp, with the re-designed “big” IMS bearing and without the potential for bore scoring that can affect the later 3.4 litre cars, they provide stirring performance and a wonderful soundtrack. The handling is sublime, backed up with wonderful steering, a slick 6-speed manual gearbox and powerful Brembo sourced brakes. Fantastic fun, and with all 987 Boxsters being Euro 4 there is no problem with ULEZ charges in our major cities.
