Superb looking Porsche 987 Gen 1 Boxster 3.2 S in “triple black” – Basalt Black metallic paint, black full extended leather interior, black hood. 75,159 miles in the hands of 4 owners, the first of whom wasn’t shy when it came to the options list when ordering his car. MC05YKX features all the choice options – hardback heated sports seats with embossed Porsche crests, extended leather, Sport Chrono, cruise control, short shifter and 19″ Sport Design alloy wheels.

The service record is very good, featuring Porsche Centres for the first three services in 2007 at 8,132 miles, 2009 at 35,624 miles and 2011 at 55,692 miles, then recognised Porsche specialists in PCT Cars (2013 at 63,298 miles), Cavendish (2016 at 69,070 miles) and Cotswold Porsche (2019 at 72,276 miles). In addition, the coolant hoses and cross pipes have been changed recently.

Our preparation will be mainly cosmetic – the front bumper requires repainting to remove stone chips, and the hood has a couple of stain marks that need to be cleaned. We will also replace the air conditioning condensers and recharge the system, and do our usual inspection.

On the road, MC05YKX delivers outstanding performance, roadholding and handling. The 280bhp flat-six is silky smooth and builds power throughout the rev range, the short shifter supplying snickety gear changes, and the steering has the fluidity and feedback that only a well-designed hydraulic power steering system can provide. The Brembo brakes back this up with reassuring power and feel.

Like all Flat Six Classics cars, this Boxster 3.2 S will come with a comprehensive 6 month/6,000 mile warranty (extendable to 12 months/12,000 miles if you wish).
